| Description | Arent Fox LLP IP Docketing Specialist Arent Fox Washington Office is seeking an experienced IP Docketing Specialist to attend to day-to-day docketing functions of domestic and foreign trademark prosecution in strict adherence to established policies and procedures for a growing and talented IP Group. Primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: * Analyzing all incoming correspondence related to domestic and foreign trademark prosecution; discerning the pertinent information and entering required information into the docketing database. * Reconciling as-filed documents, acknowledgement receipts, docket sheets, attorney comments and departmental emails against docketed due dates in order to clear dockets. * Preparing system reports and customized queries upon request or on a routine basis. * Monitoring departmental email boxes for incoming correspondence and making appropriate docket updates. * Performing quality review of docket updates and make appropriate database corrections. * Resolving docketing inaccuracies and answering questions related to the docket. * Managing special projects, including new matter intakes and docketing database audits, as assigned. Desired Skills and Experience * Minimum of three to five years of extensive trademark docketing experience using a computerized docketing system, CPI and/or Patricia experience preferred. * Trademark secretarial/paralegal experience preferred * Prior law firm experience required * Knowledge of USPTO practices and procedures required * Thorough knowledge and understanding of domestic/foreign patent and trademark prosecution procedures, terminology, and deadlines required * Excellent organizational, problem-solving, attention to detail and analytical skills * Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written * Strong proofreading skills * Ability to work well under pressure and adjust quickly to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of productivity * Typing at least 45 wpm * Proficient in use of MS Word * Proficiency in use of other office software such as Excel and PowerPoint helpful * Paid overtime required during new matter intakes and departmental projects Firm offers excellent working environment and benefits and is conveniently located to the Farragut North Metro.
