| Description | Hogan Lovells Location: Houston, TX Job Title: Paralegal Clerk Job Title Description: Paralegal Clerk Employment Type: Full Time Category: Litigation Support Description: SUMMARY Paralegal Clerks who work in the Litigation Practice Area provide support to lawyers during the entire litigation process from the initial information-gathering stage through discovery and trial, and ending with careful archival of case material. Subject to the supervision of the attorney(s) responsible for the matter, Paralegal Clerks may assist in such tasks as: correspondence and discovery, hearings and trials, administrative proceedings, briefs, and settlements. Paralegal Clerks also play a significant role in the retrieval, review and production of documents. 750 annual client billable hours required. 750 annual administrative non-client billable hours required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist with document retrieval, review, organization and production; - Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, discovery and research; - Cite-check and edit legal documents; - Write concise memoranda to summarize research results; - Maintain a database of client advisories; - Maintain document, transcript and work product databases; - Conduct legal research; - Organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logs; - Coordinate work with outside document/litigation vendors, including adherence to strict deadlines; - Maintain confidentiality of client information; and - Other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes required to lift equipment and/or move boxes up to 20 lbs. OFFICE HOURS: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, with overtime as required.
