We act for host governments, sponsors, lenders, contractors and suppliers. Our broad experience advising the full range of market participants means that we are able to anticipate, and importantly to understand, issues and problems that may arise during the course of a project and find constructive solutions to them. Required skills and characteristics Qualified to practice law as a Solicitor or Barrister and have relevant experience as well as excellent academics, including at least a 2:1 at degree or above (or equivalent); Able to maintain a polite and professional demeanour when dealing with clients; Networking skills; Organisational skills; Ability to communicate assertively when under pressure; and Ability to influence using appropriate techniques. Innovative and practical Team player Proactive Commercially minded Motivates others Key Responsibilties and Challenges Your key responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing and negotiation of documents, chairing internal and external meetings, client relationship management and business development activities with existing and potential clients. Technical Taking initial instructions internally or externally, delegating where appropriate Research, due diligence and information management Drafting and reviewing documentation, demonstrating familiarity with precedents and market standards Client Relationship Management Taking a lead role in advising the client under appropriate supervision Providing commercial and legal advice to the client Demonstrating thorough market knowledge to identify current trends and concerns in relevant industry sectors. Able to present ideas to the client to resolve current market issues and anticipate potential problems Management Supervising teams and demonstrating control (particularly of documentation) through effective delegation Debriefing at the end of a matter or at other appropriate stages Co-ordinating, coaching and monitoring the work of others to facilitate achievement of objectives Effective organisation of documentation and project plans Managing meetings effectively by setting clear objectives and agendas and encouraging other's participation Business Development Networking with client to capitalise on new business opportunities Contributing to quality know-how and transaction bibles and their upkeep Training Delivering practice specific training to develop junior associates Coaching less experienced associates and trainees Regularly giving and seeking clear performance feedback to/from others How to Apply Please apply online, attaching your CV (and academic transcript) to the application form. Key Responsibilities and Challenges Technical * Taking instructions internally or externally * Researching the appropriate primary and secondary sources to correctly identify and analyse issues. * Due diligence * Advising client, judging appropriately when to seek advice and when to advise without supervision. * Drafting using the correct precedents. * Reviewing documentation while appreciating legal and commercial arguments and client goals. * Meeting deadlines. Client Relationship Management * Exceeding client expectations by anticipating client needs and resolving problems. * Enhancing team's client knowledge. * Relaying client feedback to the responsible Partner. * Building and maintaining co-operative, communicative relationships with the client team. * Contributing effectively in client meetings. Business Development * Maintaining knowledge of latest commercial and legal intelligence or market situation and its impact on the business. * Participating in recruitment initiatives, client marketing and developing networks with other professionals, participating at conferences or professional organisations. * Identifying opportunities for and being proactive in obtaining further work.
