Assisting in training and practice development. The role will reflect the individual's level of experience but will include a combination of the following: Know-how Sorting, sharing and disseminating knowledge; Identifying, collating and indexing knowhow and information relevant to the practice group; Debriefing of lawyers for know-how Consulting with fee-earners to ensure that know-how continues to meet the practice area's needs Providing a referral point for information officers in relation to handling more complex enquiries or in dealing with the indexing of know-how materials Working with F&P divisional and firm global Knowledge and Learning teams on identification and dissemination of know-how best practice Coordinating with overseas offices, and other practice areas with regard to know-how relevant to them Manuals and Precedents Creating new, and amending existing, manuals and precedents and associated documentation (e.g. drafting notes, special memoranda, checklists) in the light of worldwide practice developments and legal changes Liaising with fee-earners as to using their current documents as the basis of precedents and so as to ensure that precedents are available to meet the practice area's needs. Liaising with Partners and other fee-earners designated to assist with specific high priority tasks on the content and presentation of material. Managing projects designed to increase the reach and accessibility of knowhow resources, including managing teams comprising fee-earners and support staff. Publications Preparation of periodic practice area newsletters Preparation of client publications Contributing articles to professional journals Marketing Assisting in the preparation of conference papers, brochures and presentations Developing seminars for clients Keeping the practice abreast of legal developments which might lend themselves to marketing action Training Contributing to Linklaters training courses by giving presentations and assisting in the preparation of handouts Developing legal training programmes for fee earners and clients Responsibility for scheduling and organising training including liaising with speakers and providers Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required At least four years' work experience as a fee-earner or a PSL either in a leading private funds practice or in a transactional practice involving complex financial products, structures and regulation.
