Key Responsibilities We currently have a team of 25+ lawyers based in the Dubai office in the Banking & Finance group (headed by 4 partners). This team concentrates on finance and projects work in and originating from Dubai as well as the broader MENA region, and works closely with the smaller Finance & Projects team (10 lawyers) based in Abu Dhabi as well as the 7 Finance & Projects lawyers based in Riyadh. We work on a broad variety of financing matters under both English and UAE law including: - General banking transactions such as syndicated loans, acquisition and real estate finance - Project financings across all sectors, especially petrochemicals, power and water - Restructurings - Islamic finance We act for the leading global and regional financial institutions as well as leading regional corporates. Lawyers are given the chance to handle a tremendous variety of work and the partners actively work towards ensuring individual lawyers receive their preferred mix of work. You will be given responsibility for running transactions and working closely with clients. This means that you will develop outstanding transaction management and organisational skills as well as developing superb technical abilities. Skills and Qualifications We are currently seeking an outstanding lawyer with 4-6 years PQE to join our commercial/projects team. The candidate should be fluent in English and should have previous experience working in a top tier regional or international law firm. It is essential that they have a strong track-record working on large projects, preferably with experience of projects in Middle East. They should be familiar with concessions, O&M agreements, offtake agreements, feedstock agreements etc, ideally in a range of sectors (energy, infrastructure, mining and metals, oil & gas etc). Familiarity with major procurement methods (EPC, EPCM etc) would also be desirable but not essential. The candidate should be comfortable taking on responsibility and operating with minimal supervision. They should demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills and a high level of commercial awareness. A minimum of a medium term commitment to the region is also essential.
