Allen & Overy's summer clerkship program is key to our graduate scheme and we invite applications from penultimate year students currently completing an Australian law degree. We hold two programs over the 2012/13 summer period and each clerkship will run for three weeks. During your time with our firm, you will be placed in one of our practice groups where you will have the opportunity to work alongside our partners, lawyers and support team on genuine and interesting work. You will also be invited to a number of training sessions and networking events. and have the opportunity to meet with other partners and lawyers within our global network. Requirements We realise that each applicant brings their own unique skills however we do look for certain characteristics in all our applicants. Students should have excellent academic results and we also want to see evidence of teamwork, communication skills, planning and organisation, problem solving and commercial awareness. Importantly, applicants should show commitment to a career in law, and to a career with Allen & Overy. Our preference is that applicants are in their penultimate year of university. However, if you are applying before or after this period, please state the reasons why this is the case in your covering letter.
