We do things differently - in the way we treat our people and the service we provide. That's how we've become one of the largest law firms in the world and a great place to work and develop your career. The Banking team is part of the national Finance team, working closely with other offices in acting for financial institutions and borrowers in relation to major financing transactions. The team is particularly strong in the areas of acquisition finance, asset based lending and real estate finance and acting for large corporates raising debt finance. Key responsibilities: The role replaces a trainee. We are a relatively small team of 7 and so the person will be an important part of the team. The work although being the least complex of what we do is vital to the team because it is critical to get right eg CPs at completion and registrations. Because we are a transactional team, there are times when it would be helpful for you to work longer hours to assist with the transactions. As trainees move every 6 months we are trying to achieve more consistency with the same person in the role for longer and allow that person to build up a better relationship with and knowledge of the team and its client. Skills and experience: The role is similar to that of a trainee: Preparing and updating conditions precedent checklists on transactions and dealing with the collection and coordination of the CPs Reviewing and approving companies house searches and formalities documents and conditions precedent on transactions Dealing with transaction post completion in including document collation, registrations and bibling Drafting minor finance documents such as deeds or release Other ad hoc deal related matters You will get exposure to clients when dealing with the above on the phone and at completion meetings. Key competencies: You will have a strong academic background, a practical and client centred approach and work successfully as part of a team.
