Our national procurement team is looking for an Associate to join our busy commercial team in Newcastle. Key responsibilities: You will be: Providing advice on complex strategic matters as to the application and impact of EU and UK public procurement rules for public and private sector clients across a range of sectors. Delivering public procurement advice including advice as to application of the Regulations, the application and management of procurement processes and advice on risk and risk management. Working closely with wider project teams as part of multi-disciplinary project delivery offering across a range of sectors including health, transport, local government, utilities, energy etc. Actively be involved in, and have individual business development responsibilities, including attending market events, drafting briefings and client training and presentations. Skills and experience: To have gained the experience you need to be successful in this role, we expect you may be Newly Qualified or up to 3 years PQE, but we are happy to hear from all candidates with relevant experience. You will possess and be able to demonstrate strong technical skills and excellent academic qualifications. In addition you will be able to demonstrate exceptional organisation skills as well as your high attention to detail. You will provide a first rate client service both internally and externally. Key competencies: You will be a strong team player, with a high level of commitment to client care, a good communicator with an ability to interpret complex legal issues into plain English risk based advice for clients. It would be advantageous to have strong project management skills to lead projects through the procurement process and keep them on track.
